You Can Now Build Games in Snapp

Snapp builds apps and websites. It also builds games: describe the game you want, and Snapp builds a playable one you can open on your phone, share with a friend, and publish to the app stores.

Describe it, play it

Type what you have in mind, the way you'd tell a friend: "a ball that rolls through an endless mine and digs up hidden ores", "a top-down shooter where waves of zombies get harder", "a word puzzle on a 5x5 grid".

Snapp picks it up from there. When your idea reads like a game, Snapp asks Build this as a game? Tap Build as game, or keep building it as an app. You stay in control of the choice. A few minutes later you have a finished game: a title screen, controls that fit the phone, sound, a score, and a game-over screen with a share button.

On Android, your game plays full screen right inside Snapp. On iPhone, tap Play Game to open it in Safari. The link you share opens straight in a browser, so the person you send it to doesn't need to download anything.

What you can build

Snapp starts from the kind of game that fits your idea:

• Jumpers and flyers: tap to jump or flap through obstacles.
• Platformers: run, jump, collect, avoid.
• Endless runners: switch lanes, jump and slide while the world rushes at you.
• Top-down action: move in every direction, shoot or dodge, waves and levels.
• Grid and maze games: puzzles, board games, chase through a maze.
• Idle and tycoon games: tap, earn, upgrade, watch the numbers climb.
• Tower defense: place towers, hold back the waves.
• Simulation and story games: life and management sims, quizzes, interactive stories.
• Sports: football matches, penalty shootouts, basketball shots, mini golf.
• Racing: drive against rivals or through traffic on a road seen from behind your car.
• Adventure and RPG: explore a world, fight monsters, find loot, level up.

Something else in mind, like a card game or a word game? Snapp builds that too, from its general game building blocks.

Characters, backgrounds, sound effects and music come from a built-in library, so your game looks and sounds finished from the first version.

Change it without starting over

Not happy with something? Two ways to change it:



• Ask in chat. "Make the jumps higher", "add a second enemy type", "slow the first level down": the same chat you already use for apps.
• Open Customize Game. Tap the edit button next to Ask, or find Customize Game in your game's settings. Swap characters, music and sounds, pick a button style, and change colors, texts and the numbers that decide how the game feels, like speed or lives. You can even put in your own image. No AI is involved, so it uses no credits. Change a value, save, play.

Share it, or put it in the stores

Every game gets a link that plays in any browser, so you can send it to friends and see what they think before you go further. People can also add it to their home screen.

When you're happy with it, publish it to the app stores like any other Snapp app: tap Publish App in your game's settings. It becomes a real app people install, with your name and your icon. Building for the stores needs a Starter plan or higher, and each build uses one build from your plan.

What games can't do yet

Being straight about the limits:

• Games are 2D and single-player. No online multiplayer.
• Best scores are saved on the player's own phone. Want a shared leaderboard? Connect a database with Add Database, then ask for a leaderboard in the chat.
• Very large, open-world style games are out of reach. Snapp is built for the kind of game you pick up for a few minutes.
