You Can Now Build Games in Snapp
Describe the game you want and Snapp builds a playable one: full screen on your phone, a link that plays in any browser, and publishing to the app stores like any other Snapp app.
Until now, Snapp built apps and websites. Today you can also build games describe the game you want, and Snapp builds a playable one you can open on your phone, share with a friend, and publish to the app stores.
Describe it, play it
Type what you have in mind, the way you'd tell a friend: "a ball that rolls through an endless mine and digs up hidden ores", "a top-down shooter where waves of zombies get harder", "a word puzzle on a 5x5 grid".
Snapp picks it up from there. When your idea sounds like a game, Snapp offers to build it as one instead of an app you stay in control of the choice. A few minutes later you have a finished game: a title screen, controls that fit the phone, sound, a score, and a game-over screen with a Share button.
Games play full screen on your phone, and the link you share opens straight in a browser no download for the person you send it to.
What you can build
Snapp knows six kinds of game and picks the one that fits your idea:
- Side-view jumpers and flyers — tap to jump or flap through obstacles.
- Platformers — run, jump, collect, avoid.
- Top-down action — move in every direction, shoot or dodge; waves and levels.
- Grid and maze games — puzzles, board games, chase-through-a-maze.
- Idle and tycoon games — tap, earn, upgrade, watch the numbers climb.
- Tower defense — place towers, hold back the waves.
- Ask in chat. "Make the jumps higher", "add a second enemy type", "slow the first level down" the same chat you already use for apps.
- Open Customize Game. Titles, button labels and the numbers that decide how the game feels — speed, lives, spawn rate, how much a coin is worth are editable there, with no AI involved. Change a value, save, play. It costs you nothing.
- Games are 2D and single-player. No online multiplayer.
- Best scores are saved on the player's own device, so there's no shared leaderboard between players yet.
- Very large, open-world style games are out of reach; Snapp is built for the kind of game you pick up for a few minutes.
Characters, backgrounds, sound effects and music come from a built-in library, so your game looks and sounds finished from the first version.
Change it without starting over
Not happy with something? Two ways to change it:
Share it, or put it in the stores
Every game gets a link that plays in any browser, so you can send it to friends and see what they think before you go further.
When you're happy with it, publish it to the app stores like any other Snapp app — it becomes a real app people install, with your name, your icon and your screenshots. Publishing needs a Starter plan or above and uses one of your monthly publishes.
What games can't do yet
Being straight about the limits:
Try it
Open Snapp, describe a game, and play it on your phone a few minutes later. If you build something fun, reply to any of our emails and send us the link — we'd love to play it.
